Our Art & Craft Fair features talented individuals from near and far showcasing their exquisite creations. 

Free Big Dig Workshops: Starting times at 12:00 + 12:40 + 13:20 + 14:20 + 15:00 + 15:40
Explore history with “The Big Dig” workshop, where you can uncover hidden treasures and experience a real archaeological excavation.
These workshops which are run by the School of Irish Archeology, are kindly supported by The Heritage Council.
For children aged 5-12. Booking required.


Bead Making Workshops: Starting times at 12:00 + 12:40 + 13:20 + 14:20 + 15:00 + 15:30
Dive into the fascinating world of the Vikings with the “Viking Bead Making” workshop. Learn the ancient art of crafting beautiful beads like the
Norse artisans did centuries ago. These workshops which are run by the School of Irish Archeology, are kindly supported by The Heritage Council.
For children aged 5-12. Booking required.

Coin Striking Workshops: Starting times at 12:00 + 12:30 + 13:00 + 14:00 + 14:30 + 15:00 
Feel the power of ancient currency at the “Coin Striking” workshop, where you’ll have a chance to mint your very own coin.  Discover the craftsmanship behind
these historical artifacts. These workshops which are run by the School of Irish Archeology, are kindly supported by The Heritage Council.
For children aged 5-12. Booking required.

Finger Braiding Workshops: Starting times at 12:30 + 14:30
Additionally, we have the popular “Finger Braiding” workshops where you can learn this ancient technique and create beautiful braided patterns.
Please note that these workshops require a nominal fee of €5 to cover materials.

12:00 – 17:00: Dúchas Schools Collection Exhibit in Timahoe Heritage Centre
We are delighted to announce that during the upcoming Timahoe Heritage Festival, we invite you to immerse yourself in the captivating stories and traditions of our local community. The Timahoe Heritage Centre will be hosting a remarkable exhibition that delves into the depths of our past, featuring
enchanting tales submitted to the Dúchas.ie Schools Collection in the 1930s. 

13:30: Viking Battles followed by Kids Viking Training & Battle
Taking place at the heart of the festival grounds, the Viking Battles will commence each day at 1:30pm.
 14:00: Kids Viking Training – After the battle reenactment, young warriors-in-training will have the unique opportunity to be trained by the Vikings and
then get to take on the seafaring Scandinavians in a battle to defend Timahoe Round Tower. 

15:00: Heritage Talk with Sean Murray in Timahoe Heritage Centre
At 3pm on Saturday 3rd June, Sean Murray of Laois Heritage Society and Laois Archeology will give a free talk 
on the Hiberno Romanesque doorway of Timahoe Round Tower.
